Product Description
Rudrabhishekam is usually performed to a Lingam representing his manifestation as a creator of good (by destroying evil). In many temples, there is a vessel hung over the Lingam called thaara paathra, that continuously drips water or other offerings onto the Lingam in deference to Shiva’s desire for Abhisheka. Some of the common items used for Rudrabhishekam Puja is performed to get the blessings of Lord Shiva in the form of Rudra. The history behind this Puja is that Lord Rama performed it at Rameshwaram before he crossed the ocean to reach Lanka to rescue Sita and defeat Ravana.
